Replay Attack

An Attack where an Attacker repeats a legitimate data transmission

As an example, if an Attacker is able to record the data transmission of a legitimate money transfer from one bank account to another, a Replay Attack would play back this recording many times and cause the banks to transmit the original amount many times.

In the context of Contact Tracing, a successful Replay Attack could be used by an Attacker to create “fake” contacts between the target of the Attack and infected individuals, thereby causing them to be considered potentially infected.
